Mess Manager (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps members of a shared mess (household) track meals, expenses, tasks, and settlements. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and your choices. If you have questions, contact dabasish.joy9@gmail.com.
Account information. When you register, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and password you provide. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash.
Content you create. Meals, expenses, amounts, notes, tasks, notices, issues, demands, and any images you upload (for example a bill photo or profile picture). This content is shared with other members of the same mess.
Device and notification data. A Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token, so we can send you push notifications about your mess. Basic technical information (app version, platform) sent with API requests.
Diagnostic data. If the app crashes, non-personal crash and error information may be recorded to help us fix bugs.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs, health data, or advertising identifiers. We do not use tracking or advertising SDKs.
We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for advertising.
Data is processed by the following providers on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging & Crashlytics) | Push notification delivery, crash reporting | FCM token, notification payload, crash logs |
| Google Sign-In | Optional authentication | Name, email, profile photo |
| Our backend hosting (Koyeb) | Application server & database | All account and content data above |
Your data is retained while your account is active.
Deleting your account. In the app, go to Profile → Delete Account and confirm with your password. This immediately and permanently removes you from every mess, deletes your notification tokens, and erases your name, email, and phone number from our records. You can also request deletion by emailing dabasish.joy9@gmail.com.
Meals and expenses you recorded in a mess are kept in that mess’s records after deletion — other members still need them to settle shared bills — but they are no longer linked to your identity and appear only as “Deleted User”.
Traffic between the app and our server uses HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in the device’s encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore).
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy; material changes will be noted by updating the date above.
